How to use Gua Sha
BACK NECK- Before your massage, you can apply your favourite serum, oil, moisturiser, or sheet mask. The roller will help with the absorption of vital ingredients. The roller can also be stored in the fridge prior to use for an extra cooling effect. Using the upper side or ‘top of the love heart’, drag the gua sha up the back of the neck using firm pressure. When you reach the hairline, use pressing motions on the area of the neck which feels most tense. Repeat this sequence.
SIDE NECK- With the inward curved side of the tool, sweep up the side of the neck from the collarbone towards the jawline. When you reach the jaw line, use short, sharp pressing motions. Repeat this sequence before moving to the opposite side.
THROAT/ FRONT NECK- Use the upper side of the gua sha with light pressure to massage the throat. Starting in between the collarbones, sweep the tool upwards following the curve of the neck before using the two points to apply pressure to the jawline.
JAW- With the gua sha on its side, use the ‘top of the love heart’ to make sweeping motions across the jawline. Start at the chin and move the tool upwards towards the ear. Repeat this sequence before moving to the opposite side.
CHEEKS- Using the longest side of the gua sha, to massage the cheekbones. Start just above the mouth and to the side of the nose and drag the tool upwards, following the contours of the cheekbones, towards the hairline using medium pressure. Repeat this sequence before moving to the opposite side.
EYES- Use the longest curve of the ‘love heart’ to massage the under-eye area. Place the gua sha flat against the inner corner of the eye and use gentle pressure to sweep outwards towards the hairline. Repeat this sequence before moving to the opposite side.

FOREHEAD- With the longest side of the gua sha, pull the tool upwards from just above the eyebrows towards the top of the forehead. Repeat this sequence before moving to the opposite side.
Cleaning
To clean your jade roller, it’s best to gently wash after each use to remove any excess oils or serums that build upon the stone over time. Even if you simply wipe down your roller with a soft, damp cloth or towel every night, be sure to still give it a deeper clean once a week. When washing the roller, use warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. You can also soak the roller in a bowl of warm water and soap for a few minutes to give it an extra deep clean and help wash away and stubborn product buildup or dirt. Just be sure to not use water over 176 degrees Fahrenheit or 80 degrees Celsius. Hotter water will strip the jade gemstone of its protective layers or ruin the handle. Be sure to also never use chemical cleaners or alcohol on the roller either, which can also cause damage to the facial roller. After you’ve washed the roller using warm water, gently pat dry and lay flat on a clean, dry towel to prevent rusting. If you have sensitive skin, be sure to use the gentlest soap you have on hand when cleaning your jade stone roller—a safe best is to use the same cleanser you use to wash your face.
